Learning and Teaching Theories - Contemporary Approaches to University Teaching

Nahid Choudhury

Learning and Teaching Theories - Contemporary Approaches to University Teaching This module provides an overview of the origins of learning theory, its scope and development over time, and associated principles of adult learning. Participants are encouraged to think critically about their own conceptions of learning and teaching, reflect on learning theory in relation to the demands of the contemporary higher education environment, and consider how teaching practices are informed and shaped by theory. Learning Outcomes On successful completion of this module, you should be able to: identify and describe the core learning theories that currently influence our conceptions of, and approaches to, teaching in Australian universities; and align your academic practice with one or more learning theories.
