Teaching your First Class - Contemporary Approaches to University Teaching The aim of this module is to assist you to approach teaching your initial class in a higher education unit of study with confidence and capability. This module covers how you can best plan, facilitate and evaluate your first class. Through following the structure of a first class, you will explore what is expected for teaching your own initial class. Alternatively you can simply explore the following information about the first class. Whether this is your first class ever or the first class of your unit this semester, you will be introduced to a range of practical resources, ideas and suggestions that will enable you to facilitate a first class whilst having a great learning and teaching experience. Learning Outcomes On successful completion of this module you should be able to: develop confidence in teaching your first class in higher education; and identify and develop strategies to plan, facilitate and reflect on your first class with an emphasis on student-centred learning.
